  • Job Summary

    The Operations group is a collection of sub-departments which is responsible for everything after an account is opened or a trade occurs. The Operations group's responsibilities include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, and many more. 


    The Margin department monitors all margin accounts and issues margin calls when the customer's account equity falls below minimum maintenance levels. The Margin Specialist will help to monitor and review the customer accounts in conformance with industry regulations.

    Essential Functions

    • Perform client investment account administration and maintenance
    • Responsible for analyzing cash/margin accounts to ensure compliance with industry regulations (Regulation T, FINRA Rule 4210, 15c3-3) as well as company policies
    • Understand multiple effects of a transaction. Functions may include, but are not limited to: adjustments to customer and/or firm accounts, performing calculations based on trading activity & reviewing outbound disbursements (i.e. cash and/or securities)
    • Requires basic understanding of the brokerage industry and in-depth knowledge of area systems, processes and procedures including those of related departments and divisions. 
    • Under moderate to close supervision, performs routine or basic functions according to department guidelines

    Job Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred
    • 1 plus year previous office/clerical experience
    • Knowledge of basic security industry terminology and financial markets a plus
    • Customer focused with effective interpersonal and communication skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines
    • Self-starter with the ability to think independently
    • Career oriented
    • Able to work additional hours and/or flexible shift assignments when needed
