  • Job Summary

    The Operations group is a collection of sub-departments which is responsible for everything after an account is opened or a trade occurs. The Operations group's responsibilities include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, and many more.

    Essential Functions

    • Under moderate to close supervision, performs routine or basic functions according to department guidelines.
    • Accurate verification and execution of all trade instructions within established service level agreements.
    • Review the MBS account each morning to determine if the account was in balance at the end of the previous day. Identify and report details for any out of balance items to the processor of MBSD Reconciliation.
    • Monitor QTIX RTTM for any trade problems that might require action such as account or cusip set up. Review pending items to be certain custom pool trades are not compared and Novated.
    • Maintain a record of current month TBA trades. Monitor trades that should be compared and Novated and check to be sure that no custom pool trades have been compared and Novated.
    • Process TBA functions according to actions required for the Class notification and settlement cycle. At the end of 72-hour day for each Class be certain that the MBSD is in balance in consideration of the cash settlement for pool netting.  Allocate pools and process DNA as appropriate on 48-hour day and as necessary until open TBA for the Class
    • Calculate TMPG charges and process billing of charges
    • Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment while managing changing workload volumes.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to assist in resolving complex issues and inquiries.
    • Assist in the Settlements Department and the Collateral Department as needed.

    Job Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent with 1 plus year previous office/clerical experience
    • Knowledge of basic security industry terminology and financial markets a plus
    • Experience with account reconciliation
    • Talisys / FIS / QTIX/ TBA Mortgage Master experience, a plus
    • Customer focused with effective interpersonal and communication skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines
    • Able to work additional hours and/or flexible shift assignments when needed
