  • Job Summary

    The Wealth Management Strategist serves as the primary coordinator for new business acquisition, collaborates with the wealth advisory team in the retention and growth of existing clients, and serves as a resource in complex wealth planning solutions for high net worth individuals, families, business owners, corporate executives, foundations/endowments and non-profit organizations.

    Essential Functions

    1. Develops strong relationships with commercial bankers, senior management, external professional advisors, and community leadership to seek introductions and referrals for new business opportunities.
    2. Drives the consultative process with the prospect/client and assists partners with overall discovery by listening effectively to client concerns in order to accurately diagnose and facilitate resolution of prospect/client financial issues through delivery of wealth planning solutions.
    3. Serves as a relationship manager for client relationships including investment agency and fiduciary accounts.
    4. Meets or exceeds new business goals and works with the market manager to achieve budgeted revenue/expenses of the market.
    5. Leads and assists with the creation, management, and implementation of prospect/client presentations.
    6. Plans and implements business development events in collaboration with the market manager.
    7. Utilizes Salesforce to input opportunities and track pipeline activities.
    8. Utilizes planning software for presentations to close new business.
    9. Educates internal partners, and commercial lenders in areas of wealth planning: financial planning, retirement planning, business succession planning, and estate and trust planning, when necessary.
    10. Keeps up-to-date on relevant issues concerning wealth planning, tax, investment, and legal issues

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Degree in business or related field preferred. Advanced degree or certification a plus (JD; CPA, CFP, CPWA, CTFA).
    • 4+ years’ experience in trust and investment sales to high net worth clients with an established network of referral sources including attorneys, accountants, community and business leaders.
    • General understanding of wealth planning including business succession, executive compensation, individual and fiduciary taxation, legal, and retirement planning. Technical proficiency in these areas a plus.
    • Use of Salesforce and various financial planning software such as MoneyGuide Pro.
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of clients and Bank personnel.
    • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and work in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Must be self-motivated team player with strong attention to detail, high level of accountability, and the ability to work independently.
    • Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office suite of products, and the ability to learn and utilize custom banking systems and applications.
    • Ability to maintain a high degree of ethical standards and complete confidentiality at all times.
