  • Job Summary

    Information Technology Financial Analyst supporting  a shared service IT department across multiple lines of business with both on premise and Cloud infrastructure. This role supports the 5,000+ employee financial services organization and is responsible for analyzing financial status by collecting, monitoring, and studying data in conjunction with company fundamentals and recommending specific actions. In addition to tracking the company's IT financial performance and posture against a plan, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create a forecast of the future, re-forecasting budget, and providing periodic reports to management and other stakeholders to help shape the tactical and strategic planning of Information Technology.

    Essential Functions

    • Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data
    • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with budget and forecasts
    • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions
    • Collaborate with other departments (procurement, FP&A, accounting, etc.) to ensure correct information is entered into accounting and other financial systems
    • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
    • Develop IT budget and forecasting that aligns with IT strategy and technology roadmap
    • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data as necessary
    • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses
    • Increase productivity by coordinating information requirements.
    • Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, statistics, or business administration from an accredited university relevant industry certifications preferred
    • 3 or more years’ experience performing financial analysis
    • 3 or more years’ experience in using industry standard financial reporting systems
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Working knowledge of IT organizations preferred
    • Financial industry experience preferred
    • Experience in financial planning and strategy
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Diplomatic skills are necessary in interactions with business units and IT department
    • Complex problem solving abilities with experience in financial analysis
    • Proven investigation and reasoning skills with advanced or better reasoning skills
    • Must be a team player with strong ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking with minimal supervision
