  • Job Summary

    The New Accounts department is part of the of the operations group at Hilltop Securities. The New Accounts specialist serves customers by completing enrollments and conversion mailings; responding to requests; resolving complaints while maintaining quality service. 

     

    The Operations group is a collection of sub-departments which is responsible for everything after an account is opened or a trade occurs. The Operations group's responsibilities include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, and many more.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Under moderate to close supervision, performs routine or basic functions according to department guidelines.
    • Prepares work to be processed by gathering, sorting, organizing, and recording data, information, and documents.
    • Completes enrollments by analyzing and auditing documents, researching and resolving processing problems.
    • Completes conversion mailings by coordinating requirements; developing plans.
    • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information; responding to requests.
    • Resolves complaints by investigating issues and composing responses.
    • Maintains quality service by monitoring standards; advising supervisor of potential problems.
    • Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing information.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
    • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

    Job Requirements

     

    • College graduate and 1 - 2 years Financial Services experience a plus 
    • High school diploma or equivalent with 1 plus year previous office/clerical experience 
    • Knowledge of basic security industry terminology and financial markets a plus
    • Customer focused with effective interpersonal and communication skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines
    • Able to work additional hours and/or flexible shift assignments when needed
