  • Job Summary

    The Equity Capital Markets Analyst/Trader is responsible for ensuring best execution on security transactions in addition to supporting the desk by providing quantitative analysis and detailed reporting to clients. This position requires ensuring accurate reporting of risk, hedge positions, P&L, counterparty exposure and high touch client services.

    Essential Functions

    • Facilitate daily dialogue between clients and traders as well as becoming familiar with liquidity providers, market strategies and conditions. Candidate must demonstrate very high level attention to detail, specific buy/sells, and quantitative analysis of pre/post trade data.
    • Monitor the specified markets, be aware of changing market conditions, and ensure accuracy when managing orders and speaking to clients. The role will also be responsible for identifying best execution strategies with client performance in mind.
    • Assist in evaluating overall risk position in order to most effectively manage the duration of trades vs. client benchmarks. The trader will also be responsible for ensuring all positions balance daily and all trades settle efficiently.
    • Work with the back office on trade breaks or settlement issues.
    • Build and maintain relevant valuation models, spreadsheets and databases, and make changes to those models as appropriate.

    Job Requirements

    • Strong analytical, quantitative, mathematical and communication skills
    • Must be competent in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint as well as Bloomberg, etc
    • Solid understanding of market risk concepts and statistical techniques ( CAPM, MPT, multi-factor risk models, regression, tracking error, correlation, beta, volatility, etc.) and their relevant application
    • Familiarity with financial services (brokerage) business
    • Enjoys complex work with time deadlines

    • Self-starter – motivated
    • Enjoys learning new concepts


    • Bachelor’s degree required - MBA preferred
    • Course study includes math, statistics and computer science preferred


    • 3-5 years with trading desk and/or brokerage back office experiences
    • 1-3 years working with quantitative and software data technologies, engineering or analysis for the financial industry
