  • Job Summary

    The senior tax analyst associate performs a variety of tasks related to ensuring their organization complies with all tax regulations and reporting requirements. The brokerage operations division is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support the various tax reporting responsibilities in the Government Reporting / Cost Basis departments. The operations division’s responsibilities generally include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, tax reporting and much more. The successful candidate will be primarily be engaged in the 1099 composite tax statement preparation and audits. The role also involves reviewing and validating tax statements to ensure compliance. Tax reporting responsibilities of the Broker Dealer have increased in complexity over the years and require additional focus to certify all facets of tax reporting are aligned properly and functioning seamlessly.

    Essential Functions

    • Maintain, report and correct audit issues
    • Assist in testing and implementation of issue resolution
    • Provide additional support for Cost Basis related activities
    • Perform 1099 Composite Report Maintenance
    • Assist in other Government Reporting duties as needed
    • Available to work extra hours as needed to complete assigned tasks and responsibilities
    • Be a team player

    Job Requirements

    • Undergraduate business degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Minimum 3-5 years tax reporting related experience
    • Series 99 required, or abbility to obtain within 180 days of hire 
    • Cost Basis experience
    • Knowledge of IRS information reporting regulations
    • Fixed Income Cost Basis complex debt experience preferred
    • Familiarity with securities operations
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite
    • Ability to quickly and accurately solve complex problems
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
    • Talisys experience a plus
    • FIS/WSC experience a plus
    • Salesforce experience a plus
