Job Summary

Hands-on position involved in the continued enhancement and support of the enterprise data warehouse, business intelligence suite, and other analytical/reporting/interface solutions including compliance and statistical reporting. The ideal candidate is a strong technology professional and software developer with significant experience in the P&C insurance industry. This position will serve as a developer for creating data warehouse frameworks, SSRS reports, and will also require documenting requirements, developing and delivering analytical outputs. This position requires strong quantitative analytical skills to review data, conduct analysis, and prepare reports, with a balanced interest in data manipulation and business. This position will involve receiving ad hoc financial research requests and querying various SQL databases to retrieve data and prepare reports.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements for data analysis, reporting, and data interfaces
  • Work with other developers, business analysts, and solution vendors to translate requirements into deliverable solutions such as dashboards, formatted reports, analysis frameworks, formatted data records, and ad-hoc queries
  • Maintain communications with regulatory compliance agencies and respond to instructed corrections
  • Develop and maintain automated processes for compliance and statistical reporting
  • Work with end users to test, validate, and deliver the solutions in the most effective and efficient manner
  • Debug operational problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Continually improve processes and solutions, seeking ways to use new tools, features, and capabilities

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • Proven experience as a data analyst, generally a minimum of 8 years related experience in business or IT.
  • Proven experience with P&C insurance industry data, information systems, and analytics
  • Demonstrated on-going learning through relevant credentials
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a history of successful interaction with other team members
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, especially listening skills
  • Strong software, report, and ETL report development skills in multiple environments
  • Detail oriented and meticulous with regard to data quality and all deliverables
  • High proficiency in in writing SQL Scripts is required
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work extended hours occasionally
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Experience with P&C Insurance compliance and statistical reporting preferred.
