Job Summary

The Note Processor is responsible for booking and funding new and renewed loans and posting payments and advances on loans. In addition, the note processor assists customers with questions and loan payoffs.

Essential Functions

  1. Sets up and enters data for new and renewed notes, and note modifications
  2. Completes data entry and processes appropriate general ledger entries with corresponding offsets
  3. Processes initial funding as requested and accounts for collection of fees and charges
  4. Works with loans requiring multiple pricing options, seasonal limits, tiered commitments, prepayment penalties and breakage costs
  5. Receives, reviews and sets up advances
  6. Sets up and maintains guarantor records on the loan system as required
  7. Ensures receipt and verification of proper approvals prior to booking any unusual transactions
  8. Calculates and processes accrual and fee adjustments as required
  9. Identifies and resolves any moderate to complex boarding/accounting problems
  10. Provides quality service to internal and external customers by telephone and by assisting loan departments in responding to customer questions and/or problems
  11. Assists in the documentation, standardization and measurement of key business processes to promote a total quality management environment and to allow for the continual improvement and efficiency of key departmental process  
  12. Performs certain duties related to the overall function of the credit department. These duties will vary depending upon overall department needs and individual ability and experience     
  13. Updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continual basis through various training resources.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required
  • 1 year of office/clerical experience required
  • Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and produce error-free work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Must be self-motivated with strong attention to detail and high level of accountability
