Job Summary

The Card Services Manager will manage the daily operations of the debit card department and the card services team. Will be responsible for researching and making recommendations to enhance the debit card programs for the bank while ensuring compliance with regulatory aspects of banking and debit cards.

Essential Functions

  1. Manages the Card Services department staff to ensure daily procedures are completed and that quality service is provided to customers and front line staff.
  2. Creates and maintains a debit card roadmap based on industry standards and best practices.
  3. Executes various components of the Bank’s debit card product strategy.
  4. Evaluates new product offerings and completes business cases to present the product facts and provide product recommendations.
  5. Implements new card products; coordinates testing and develops appropriate metrics to monitor new products.
  6. Monitors product adoption and presents strategies to increase product adoption and usage.
  7. Provides product support for customer and employee issues with all debit and prepaid products.
  8. Analyzes card product income and expenses and ensures all revenue and payments are accurately allocated and reported to management.
  9. Ensures compliance and reporting requirements related to regulatory aspects of debit cards are met; specifically Regulation II and Regulation E, but including all other applicable company policies and procedures and all other applicable regulations, policies, and procedures
  10. Assesses and manages risks associated with debit cards.
  11. Manages relationships with various card product vendors.
  12. Manages all aspects of in-house card production.
  13. Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in card services or related financial services work which must include direct experience with card management.
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of debit card processing. Previous experience in debit cards involving compliance with Regulation II and Regulation E strongly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory of management experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and utilize custom banking systems and applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of customers, clients, and Bank personnel.
  • Strong analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
