Job Summary

The Business Development Team (BDT) is responsible for shaping a competitive and holistic Wealth Management platform for its network of advisors, both captive and independent. The BDT team works across PCG and HTIN partnering with field leadership and advisors to drive Retail growth using the extensive platform of products available, including but not limited to – advisory, insurance, alternative investment products. This team is the first line of defense and overall practice management team to the firm’s wealth management philosophy rooted in its holistic approach to wealth management.

Essential Functions

  • Support MoneyGuidePro®, financial planning software for HTIN advisors by providing training and help analyzing reports and plans.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for advisors to expand client relationships, based on client’s goals
  • Create financial planning reports using MoneyGuidePro system. Make recommendations to Advisors on strategies & products to use.
  • Collaborates with Business Development Consultant on proposal and case assistance.
  • Provides business support for Wealth Management Systems, such as CRM, and financial planning.
  • Cultivate advisor relationships to grow retail efforts across varying products on the Wealth Management platform.
  • Interacts with other team members and Hilltop divisions to coordinate the delivery of service to clients.
  • Provides ongoing support of advisor relationships, handles day-to-day advisor requests and issues.
  • Works interactively with investment partners and wholesalers.
  • Additional Wealth Management projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.  Bachelor’s degree, preferably business-related, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Two plus years Financial Services experience required.
  • Series 7 required. Series 63/65 or 66 license or must obtain within time period as deemed by hiring manager
  • Insurance License or must obtain within time period as deemed by hiring manager
  • Financial Planning Designation or must obtain within time period as deemed by hiring manager
  • Possess a solid knowledge of the wealth management industry, specifically advisory services and financial planning
  • Must be detail-orientated, analytical and be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment while maintaining accurate, complete and high quality work in a timely manner
  • Self-motivated team player and individual contributor
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
